Spring Bird of Paradise Paper-piecing Pattern Guide

Includes the block pattern and written guidance for Kate's Spring Bird of Paradise block (12 1/2") to learn No-tear paper piecing using freezer paper foundations that remove easily.  This method can be used with any foundation piecing patterns, including ones designed for standard paper piecing.

Benefits of this method:

  1. Pattern foundations remove without having to be torn away from the fabric.
  2. It can be used even when the pattern requires sometimes complicated subunits.
  3. It is very flexible and accurate.
  4. Pattern pieces can be reused several times.
  5. It lends itself to precut templates fabric pieces so there is less waste and less risk of the piece not fitting well.
  6. Because you do not stitch through the paper, you will be able to easily correct any mistakes with damaging the pattern.
  7. Seams can be make to go which every direction for pressing that is best for your project.

All in all, this technique is a huge win for people that want accurate and flexible patterning for more complex designs.
